The 2026 Educator Survey: We asked, they answered.

September 28th, 2026

Public education is the heart of a healthy and thriving community.

Public education is shaped by decisions made at many levels, from our classrooms and school buildings to our local communities and the State House. But the effects of those decisions are ultimately experienced in schools, by the students, families, and educators who bring public education to life each day.

At Reaching Higher New Hampshire, we believe that understanding those experiences is essential to making thoughtful decisions about the future of public education. That is why educator voice has remained an important part of our research.

In this administration of our educator survey, we sought to understand what goes into a high-quality education and how we sustain a high standard of quality in New Hampshire. Beyond our usual questions focused on educator sentiment, we also asked: what is critical to a high-quality education, and how is New Hampshire doing?

This report reflects the perspectives of nearly 400 educators working across New Hampshire. Their responses offer something particularly valuable: a view of public education from those closest to its daily practice. Educators see where students are thriving, where needs are changing, where systems are working as intended, and where additional capacity or support may be needed. Their perspectives can help us better understand how policies, resources, and broader social and economic conditions are experienced within schools.
